A Little About Rebekah Downing
Rebekah Downing (Performance Company & DCG Faculty) – Rebekah Downing hails from Charlotte, North Carolina where she began her studies in classical ballet and contemporary dance. From 2002-2004 Rebekah studied with Patricia McBride and Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux at the North Carolina Dance Theatre and then attended high school at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts earning her diploma with a concentration in classical ballet. Rebekah continued her studies at UNCSA for two more years under the direction of Ethan Stiefel, Brenda Daniels, Alonzo King, Melissa Hayden, Larrey Keigwin, Nina Danoliva and Helen Simoneau. Rebekah earned her BFA from Codarts, Rottedam, University of the Arts in June, 2013. Rebekah has performed at Lincoln Center with Mark Dendy Dance, Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival for Victor Plotnikov, with AK LINES Ballet Company under Alonzo King and as a guest artist with the Fort Wayne Ballet. Rebekah enjoys teaching and has taught for the Wake Forest University Dance Company, Edge Performing Arts, Center Stage Dance and currently at The Dance Center of Greensboro. DCG welcomes Rebekah to the program and is proud to have her experience, knowledge and extraordinary dance ability for the DCG students.
