Cecchetti Testimonial:

"The Cecchetti Method is the only ballet technique that I have found to be kind to a dancer's body. It provides a precise system for training and teaches the terminology of ballet. I completed Grades I-V as a student and I feel this is what got me accepted to The Juilliard School.

As I went on to the professional dance world…the auditions I would attend 9 times out of 10 began with a ballet combination. I performed as a Radio City Rockette, and who would think you’d need ballet training to do high kicks?! The Rockettes are all about precision and with my Cecchetti training I was able to achieve the proper arm and leg positions that precision dancing requires, with EASE!

I then went onto perform in the Broadway revival of 42nd Street, a heavy tap show. What was the first thing we had to do for that audition? Ballet! Cecchetti got me the job!!!

I am now finding that many students do not know the basic steps and terminology of ballet that follow through in jazz, tap and lyrical. I stopped teaching the “tricks” and introduced the Cecchetti Method to my students. The rate of improvement accelerated. The system of the Cecchetti method allows a dancer to develop their body and mind in a few short years. Today I am busy preparing 45-50 students a year for their National Cecchetti Ballet Examinations. The most important thing I see is how interested and excited the kids are to learn and how they recognize the benefits that Cecchetti gives them.”
