Each spring, the Dance Center of Greensboro’s pre-professional program attends 2-3 regional dance competitions. Participating in dance competitions helps young dancers become stage PROS by being on stage numerous times per year. Additionally, feedback from professional judges in the dance industry are personalized, helping dancers improve their technique and artistry. At DCG, professional guest choreographers (including Broadway and Contemporary/Ballet dancers) are brought in each year to offer new choreography, and to challenge and inspire the performance company dancers.

All dancers at the Dance Center of Greensboro age 6+ are eligible to audition for the pre-professional program, and will be placed into one of our six company levels. Each company level has specific technique class requirements and strict attendance guidelines, which vary depending on the age and level of the company. All pre-professional program dancers are required to participate in the annual Nutcracker Ballet Performances.

Participating in dance competitions includes additional fees for rehearsals, costumes and registration fees associated with each individual dance competition. All competition fees will be posted to your account 1 month in advance of the competition, and all fees are due 1 month prior to the competition. Costumes can be bought or rented from the studio, at the discretion of the choreographer and director.
