What We Offer
The Dance Center of Greensboro offers the Nationally Certified Cecchetti Ballet Program and Nationally Certified Dance Masters of America Tap, Acrobaric/Tumbling, Jazz and Musical Theatre progam. DCG also provides teens and adults with well-rounded classes for all levels - beginner through professional.
We are excited about our new DCG Elite Sr. and Jr.Performance teams. We will be holding auditions Saturday, September 11, 2010. In addition, we will be holding a Performance Team Audition Clinic on August 16 -20. Please contact us at 336-271-8177 for more information. Our Performance teams will be featured in a December Nutcracker Suite Ballet and have the option to compete in many styles of dance in the Spring.
Our faculty and staff come to The Dance Center of Greensboro from prestigious careers in dance and musical theatre. They have appeared on Broadway, Off-Broadway, in National and International Tours and in award-winning Dance Companies. Cecchetti
At The Dance Center of Greensboro we offer Cecchetti method training according to The Cecchetti Council of America.
The Cecchetti Council of America uses Cav. Enrico Cecchetti’s teaching and writings in a sequence of grades, carefully measured as to degree of difficulty and physical development, and provides a system of accredited examinations to test the student's proficiency within those grades. Unlike many dance studios, The Cecchetti Council of America is concerned with teaching methods and technique, not simply teaching routines. Examiners travel internationally to schools of teacher-members to test students for class promotion examinations.
The prime purpose of the Method is that the students shall not learn to dance by trying to imitate the movements of his teacher, but shall learn to dance by studying and using the basic principles which govern the art, in short, to grow and develop from within out, to become completely self reliant.
