A Little About Ashley Flanagan
Ashley Flanagan (DCG Faculty) – Ashley grew up dancing, singing and acting, in White Plains, New York, under the tutelage of her mother, Francesca DeAngelo. From an early age she took interest in the performing arts and enrolled in dance classes and singing lessons. Ashley has studied dance under Rose Jackson-Moye, Melanie Hodges, Betsy Ceva, Lisa Hopkins and has taken master classes with Sheila Barker, Frank Hatchett, Germaine Salsberg, Gary Flannery & Peter Schabel. She has performed in numerous musicals with the York Town Regional Theater Company (KJK Productions) and went on tour with ‘Scrooge’ the musical by Philip Stern in 2001. Ashley moved to Greensboro in 2004 to attend UNCG, studying dance, music and vocal performance. After college, Ashley lost touch with dance and theatre for several years until she moved just around the corner from DCG. In 2009, she discovered the DCG studio and began taking adult classes. Ashley fell in love with Jeanne Alala, Mallory Graham and dance again! Since then, she has taught and performed with DCG’s Nutcracker and Competition team, as well as numerous musical productions with the Community Theatres of Greensboro and Burlington. In June, 2017 Ashley completed her Teachers Grade II Cecchetti ballet examination. Additionally, Ashley has won numerous awards for her ingenious choreography and staging from various competitions. Ashley is a member teacher of the Cecchetti Council of America, a DCG competition program director, and one of the favorites on faculty at DCG!
